Explore some of Tanzania’s most renowned national parks on a 3 days safari journey. Depart from Zanzibar on a multi-day tour that includes numerous game drives and visits to Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara, known for its impressive display of migrating pink flamingos and tree-climbing lions that frequent it’s inland acacia woodlands. Bed down in large, two-person tents along the way and rest easy for a few days of early starts, making the most of your wildlife sightings in the company of experienced and knowledgeable guides.
A member of our team will meet you at your hotel to give you the briefing and all the necessary information regarding your safari to Tarangire National Park and answer all the questions that you might have, then transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Leaving Zanzibar airport at 08h00, arrive in Arusha at 09h15; received by our safari guide. You will travel up to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch which is the surprise package on the Northern circuit. Often overshadowed by the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire has immense concentrations of game in the peak months and a fraction of the visitors that go to any of the other Northern parks. The game viewing here from July through to October is superb and the atmosphere and habitat is completely different from the other parks. The real prizes in the park are dwarf mongoose, Oryx and generuk but viewings are very rare. Tarangire is one of Tanzania's finest birding destinations. Later drive back to the Eileen’s Trees Inn or Similar Accommodation for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, after which we travel to the Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn or Similar Accommodation.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara for a morning game drive where you will be able to see tree-climbing lions which are the park’s main attraction. Why these lions habitually climb trees is still up for debate but viewing a pride relaxing in an acacia tree is an incredible site. The park is also famous for its elephant, and huge number of baboons and due to its varied landscape has an impressive range of other game including wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, flamingo, zebra, warthog, waterbuck, dik-dik and impala. This small park is also home to over 400 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks and cormorants. You will be able to view the surroundings as the safari vehicle’s roof can open up to allow you the best angle for photography. After an extensive game drive in the park you will leave the park in the afternoon, then drive to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
